Your consciousness is in every cell of your body.
So no matter what you have going on in your life, can you find a way to be kind to yourself about it? You have the power to create your own reality and to manifest total peace in your system.
Instead of activating your central nervous system and sympathetic nervous system, which activates stress, you will remain calm.
I can't tell you how much your internal dialogue affects the truth of how you are feeling.
So this is what I want you to do today... Speak to yourself sweetly. Don't blame yourself, shame yourself, or make yourself wrong. If you catch yourself being mean to yourself- that's totally normal, but find your way back to kindness. And if that's hard for you imagine how you would speak to your dearest friend or to your child. Use that same language and you will see how it relaxes and CHANGES your body, opens your heart. My hope is that it will help you feel more free by the end of the day. It's an absolutely vital part of self care and it's one that I enjoy playing with (although I am not totally proficient in it... YET!)
1. Tonight, before you go to bed, replay the events of the day as though you are projecting it on the film screen of your mind. Simply watch and observe as though you are viewing someone else's life. Take note of the moments when you were unkind to yourself. Are there any patterns you notice? What elements or circumstances trigger your inner mean girl/critic? What can you do in the future to increase the times when you speak to yourself with love and compassion? Write down your own observations in a journal entry. If you wish to share your story with others, please comment below.
2. Post an intent here on how you plan on speaking to yourself with love rather than meanness starting today (Ex: My intent is to talk to myself as if I am talking to my 6 month old son: "Honey, I see how hard you are working to get that toy. You are frustrated that you aren't able to get to it yet, I see that. I'm right here and I know you will get there when the time is right. I love you so much, even when and ESPECIALLY when things are difficult.)
